  • The Cryosphere: Dynamics of glaciers and ice sheets, responses of ice masses to climate variations on different time scales, interaction between ice masses, atmosphere, ocean and solid Earth
  • The Interior of the Earth: Reconstruction of the terrestrial heat flow distribution in ice-covered regions, Earth’s mantle rheology, mantle convection, mantle/continent interaction, mantle plumes
