International Centre for Global Earth Models

ICGEM

ICGEM is one of six centres of the International Gravity Field Service (IGFS) of the International Association of Geodesy (IAG). It is hosted by GFZ Section 1.2. The Centre collects all existing gravity field models and provides on-line interfaces to download and visualise these models and to calculate different functionals from these models on grids of the users choice.
The models are available in a unified format.
The visualisation is an on-line interactive tool which offers an illuminated projection of the models on a freely rotatable sphere. Monthly solutions from GRACE are included. Differences of two models, zooming in and out, are possible.
The calculation service is a web-interface to calculate different gravity functionals (e.g. geoid heights, gravity anomalies, gravity disturbances, gravity, ...) from the models on freely selectable grids, with respect to a reference system of the users choice. Plots associated with these grids will be generated too.
For a concise evaluation of the models, comparisons with GPS-levelling data and with one of the recent combination models in the spectral domain are provided.
ICGEM has also an online discussion forum to answer and discuss questions of general interest.
