GPS-Radiookkultation mit GRACE

Die deutsch-amerikanische Zwillingssatelliten-Mission GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment)  wurde am 17. März 2002 gestartet und hauptsächlich genutzt, um das Erdschwerefeld in bisher unerreichter Genauigkeit zu bestimmen. Zusätzlich werden GPS-Radiookkultationsdaten von GRACE  genutzt, um global verteilte Vertikalprofile atmosphärischer Parameter (Brechungswinkel, Refraktivität, Temperatur, und Wasserdampf) abzuleiten. Die Daten werden der internationalen Nutzercommunity zur Verfügung gestellt und u.a. auch für die kontinuierliche Verbesserung globaler Wettervorhersagen genutzt.
