Attempts the precise determination of source parameters of the mainshock and its aftershocks; a summary of results of investigations from the Seismological Department, Uppsala and speculations on possible seismotectonic implications of observed activity. This was the largest earthquake in Sweden for 74 yrs and the size of the earthquake, its unexpected epicentral location, focal depth and mechanism makes the analysis especially interesting. -after Authors
