Technology Transfer at GFZ

The Helmholtz Centre Potsdam - GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences is active in all disciplines of the geosciences from geodesy, geology, geophysics to geo-engineering and operates in a close interdisciplinary connection with the neighbouring natural sciences physics, mathematics and chemistry as well as the engineering sciences like rock mechanics, mining, engineering geology and engineering seismology.



The scientific competence and creativity as well as an open-minded surrounding at the GFZ are the basis for many technology developments with an extraordinarily high innovation potential.

GFZ Potsdam contributes to shaping our future and economic development by combining research and technology development with perspectives for innovative applications and provisions for tomorrow's world.

That includes also the permanent exchange with the industry in all phases of research and knowledge production.

The principal purpose of technology transfer at the GFZ is the improvement of the economic utilization of the scientific results and the initiation of innovative impulses on economic development.
