Geo.X Annual Meeting 2011
Future Cities: Challenges for the Earth Sciences
June, 20th 2011 | Am Neuen Palais, University of Potsdam
This year’s annual meeting will combine a scientific symposium on the subject of "Future Cities: Challenges for the Earth Sciences" with the Geo.X General Meeting (Schedule). Entirely within the spirit of Geo.X, this topic will bring together the different geo-disciplines with socially relevant issues, a matter that has also gained significance since the recent earthquake in Japan. This event will provide an opportunity for the scientific community from Berlin and Potsdam to come together for one day to procure an overview of the current scientific work of their colleagues and international guests (List of Guest Speakers).
The sessions “Impacts of Seismicity/Tsunamis and Hydrological Extreme Events on Urban systems” in addition to the session “Urban Climate/Ecology” will be accompanied by a poster exhibition.
Geo.X is pleased to invite you to present your current research activities in these fields by means of a poster. Please, use the application form to register your poster.
Large projects within Geo.X (research groups, graduate schools, combined applications) are also welcome to display a poster. For this purpose please register your poster via the option: „Open Session for Geo.X-topics“
In order to enrol for this event our website system first requires you to register for Geo.X. You will then receive an e-mail of confirmation with a link in order to complete registration. Afterwards, simply log in and navigate to the symposium enrolment.
