Manual installation
Place files to the right directory:
A Plugin contains of two files: the real search-tool with the ending ".src" and the appropriate logo, that has the same filename, but the ending ".gif", ".jpg", "jpeg" ".png".
These files are located in the directory 'searchplugins'.
Windows:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla.org\Mozilla\searchplugins\
Mac:
/Mozilla/searchplugins/
Mac OS X:
/Applications/Mozilla.app/Contents/MacOS?/Search\Plugins/
Linux:
/usr/lib/Mozilla/searchplugins
for Firefox in the corresponding Firefox-directory
