Professionalisation and consolidation of the GFZ application concept

Since November 2014, the "open-GeoInnovation" project has been supported by the program "Development, implementation and professionalisation of recycling concepts from mathematics, science and engineering science Leibniz institutions (section D) and the Helmholtz centres" by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

The project at the GFZ develops innovative and viable business models for the area of geoinformation technology as well as natural disaster and land use management based on open information and software platforms (SaaS, PaaS). This includes the options of implementing the business model in employee spin-offs or licinsing the developed methods and results to collarborating economic partners.

The technical contact is Werner Dransch; the project coordinator is Ingo Kapp.
